I have to say that The Old Kent Barn is at the tippy-top of our list in terms of favourite venues! There are many reasons for their supremacy in our eyes …..

Of course, one of the reasons is the venue itself. Set in a secluded &, intimate rural location, the venue comprises of two barns within 2 ½ acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. Complete with garden gazebo (for outdoor ceremonies) & fairy lights, it’s stunning. But what makes it truly special, is the team that run it!

The atmosphere they create is very special indeed. No matter the season, no matter the weather, the staff at The Old Kent Barn, are second to none! They simply are, in our opinion, the very best in their field. Even though they conduct weddings on an, almost, daily basis, they make every Bride & Groom feel incredibly special & each day is treated with the utmost respect & care. It’s all in the detail! They are the best team players we’ve come across & we’ve seen quite a few over the years! There’s a very good reason why they are National & Regional award winners, several times over, for the best wedding venue! You are truly in very safe hands when booking The Old Kent Barn.

We have photographed many weddings at this venue which is suited to all seasons. The warmer weather allows you & your guests to enjoy the weddings outside, whilst the colder months enjoy weddings inside with their huge & dramatic voiles separating the areas. Christmas is especially magical at The Old Kent Barn & simply feels like a winter wonderland.

One of the more quirky & fun things, the venue offer, is the venue taxi! Usually waiting for the Bride to come down from the Bridal Suite (where herself & her bridal party can get ready), the taxi will transport the Bride round to the front of the building! Great fun xx

Later in the day, there is an abundance of gorgeous backdrops where we can steal away for some private time with our newly- weds to capture those more romantic portrait images. During reception drinks & formal photographs, one of us can often be found leaning out of a first floor window, in the accommodation barn, to capture those gorgeous, discrete, natural shots. We work predominantly on zoom lenses & with views of guests enjoying reception drinks in the tranquil gardens, it makes the perfect vieweing spot! It’s also very useful for that all important group shot & confetti shots. With two photographers, we can literally be in two places at one time allowing us maximum exposure!

The main barn is where your indoor ceremonies, Wedding Breakfast & evening reception are held. The ceilings in the main barn are very high indeed which gives you a real sense of space & light! Adorned with stunning vintage chandeliers, the lighting is also magical. The evening reception area is also perfect for that confetti canon during your first dance!
